Bogus callers

Please be aware that on Friday 25th January, two or possibly three bogus callers were knocking on doors in Wesley Road at approximately 10:00am. They eventually left our road but not before causing criminal damage to at least one property.

The callers were two white men aged approx. mid twenties with an accent that may have been Irish. They were asking questions such as “Is your name Matthew?” “Does Mr Matthews live here?” and “Do you need any flooring doing?”

If you have any information about these callers, descriptions, small things that may have seemed insignificant at the time but might help identify them or if they left any contact details please call the police investigation team on 020 8721 5045 and quote crime reference number 4901900/08.

We advise that you should always put a safety chain on your front door before answering your door to strangers.
